FOODSTOCK IS COMING SOON!

Written by Canadian Chefs' Congress on September 23, 2011 – 1:45 pm -

Please print or copy this flyer for the map located in the yellow circle.

October 16, 2011 is right around the corner. A few things to keep in mind. If you want to pay at the gate you may. You will want to wear good hiking shoes or boots, it’s gonna be muddy. You may want to pack a chair in your car too. Don’t forget to bring a plate, forks/knives/spoons and a cup. There is no booze at this event, we’re naturally going to be serving water, precious water at this event.
We’re up to 100 chefs preparing food for the event so you’re sure to find something that suits your appetite. You might want to download the flyer shown above and use the map for directions. Also if you’ve paid in advance, don’t forget a copy of your ticket/receipt and remember we’re suggesting a minimum contribution for admission of $10 per person.
We’re looking forward to seeing you at Foodstock.

What is the exact location of the Festival so I can plug it in to my GPS. Also, is registration preferred or can we get it at the entrance. I am looking at bringing 8 to 10 people. Thank you, Ron & Loraine

  4. Canadian Chefs' Congress Says:

The exact location is the intersection of County Road 124 and Melancthon Sideroad 20.

  5. jeff Says:

Can you please clarify if we are making a donation for entrance alone or if that donation is also going to cover samples? If I am making a donation for both food and entrance than I will donate more money than if I will be paying for samples at the event with proceeds going to the event as well.. Thanks!

  6. Canadian Chefs' Congress Says:

Hi! Your “admission” contribution includes the food. See you at Foodstock.

  9. Austin Says:

I see we are asked to bring plates, glasses and cutlery. What about chairs?

  10. Canadian Chefs' Congress Says:

Sure! Bring whatever will make you comfortable in an open farmer’s field. Folding chairs are a good idea, especially if it’s damp.

  11. Austin Says:

Should we bring our own libation?

  12. Sandy Says:

    how is registration going?
any idea of how many people will show up?

  13. Natasha Says:

Hi! would you please clarify the process with the food sampling? I assume it will be first come, first served. What are your plans for crowd control? How long do you anticipate the line-up for each ‘sample’ to be? Thanks so much!

  14. Canadian Chefs' Congress Says:

Hi Natasha, Food will be served on a first come first served basis and all of the chefs are prepared with at least 1,000 to 1,500 and a couple say they’ll have 4,000! We are not anticipating problems with crowd control, and have not got any idea how long the lines will be. For a minimum suggested $10 donation at the entrance there will be more than enough food and entertainment for however many come.

  15. Canadian Chefs' Congress Says:

We’re expecting 20,000. Registration is going very well!

  16. Canadian Chefs' Congress Says:

As long as it isn’t alchoholic. The drink of choice is water which is being supplied by Bright’s Water Service and the Wellington Water Watchers. We are not encouraging the use of disposable water containers.

  17. Jo Beck Says:

If I take the special 7:30 bus from Toronto, the bus would get there at 9;30. What do I do in the 1 1/2 hours until 11am, especially if the weather is inclement?

  18. Canadian Chefs' Congress Says:

That’s a good question. I guess it’ll be up to you, perhaps a book? We will obviously be working toward a start time of 11:00 am and we’re expecting you at 11:00 am. We didn’t organize the bus transportation.

  19. Nicole Says:

May I get a GPS address for the event please and Thank you :)

  20. Canadian Chefs' Congress Says:

You can try plugging this into your GPS.

Lennox Farm, 518024 County Road 124, Conover (Shelburn), Ontario

  21. Austin Says:

The GPS position didn’t work in my Magellan GPS but it works fine in Goggle Maps so a GPS can get you to the general area and a printout from Google Maps will take you right there.

  22. Jack Says:

    Can we bring our doggie?

  23. Al & Angela Says:

A great cause and reason to attend exists, too often we don’t participate enough, looking forward to the food and fun and sending a message and raising funds. Orangeville, ON

  24. Canadian Chefs' Congress Says:

    On leash

  25. Jason Royko-Riehl Says:
