The Balvenie Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The Balvenie single malt Scotch is produced by William Grant & Sons, one of the few remaining family owned distilleries. They honour the traditional method of whisky making, utilizing the 5 Rare Crafts: growing their own barley, maintaining their own cooper smith for their casks, a coppersmith to maintain their copper stills, continuing to utilize their own malting floors, and creating the finest scotch under the watchful eye of Malt Master, David Stewart.

The Balvenie, the world’s most handcrafted single malt scotch, believes the chefs of the Canadian Chefs’ Congress share the same values of handcraftsmanship, artisanal produced products and fine quality. The Balvenie is hosting a Distillery tour for four of our Best of Country Chefs which will take place in May 2012 with stops in Glasgow, Edinburgh and the home of single malt Scotch whisky, Speyside, Scotland. The tour will include an exploration of the five rare crafts of The Balvenie, opportunities for whisky education, and a tour of Scotland’s cultural and culinary highlights. These four chefs and The Balvenie will co-host CCC fundraisers in their respective restaurants in fall 2012 following the Congress in NS.
