Our “Best of the Country Chefs” partnered with The Balvenie Distillery for a VIP Whisky Pairing Dinner

Posted on June 19, 2012

In a special partnership between The Balvenie Single Malt Scotch and The Canadian Chefs’ Congress, four of the Best of the Country Chefs recently travelled to The Balvenie Distillery in Dufftown, Scotland to create a once in a lifetime dining experience inspired by The Five Rare Crafts of The Balvenie.

Dale MacKay of Ensemble restaurant and Top Chef Canada fame, Paul Rogalski of Rouge Restaurant in Calgary, Tom Brodi formerly of TOCA at the Ritz Carlton in Toronto, and Derek Dammann, formerly of DNA Restaurant in Montreal collaborated on the inspired menu which featured the best local ingredients of the Scottish highlands and a specially selected range of The Balvenie single malt Scotches to accompany each course.

The Balvenie will also be at The Canadian Chefs’ Congress in September and will support fundraising activities for the 2014 congress throughout the fall of 2012.
